Wood, crafted with intention

From a small company to a 360° hardwood production facility.

The family behind TDW
Founded by Emil and Othmar Osenstätter in Bavaria as a veneer trading business, the company has grown over more than four decades into a fully integrated hardwood manufacturer based in Schongau.
In 2020, Nico Osenstätter became the third generation to lead the family business, continuing its commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and uncompromising quality.
From the woods, to the plank, to the surface
TDW works alongside OHF — Osenstätter Holz & Furnier — covering the full chain from log to finished surface. Both companies are guided by the same family, allowing for seamless coordination and a shared commitment that keeps every step of the process transparent and reliable.

From the woods to the product
Each piece of wood that enters the facility is handled by skilled hands at every stage. Decades of experience in the material guide the process.
Most TDW products start with European oak, each log selected directly from certified forests before it is cut, before anything else is decided. The grain, the movement, the response to treatment all determine what the wood becomes. Modern technology sits alongside that knowledge, not instead of it — the result is a production environment that handles up to 45,000 m³ of material per year, with the consistency that only human attention can guarantee. Pre-configured, ready-to-install components for high-end residential interiors and yachting: each piece finished to specification.
Machines bring precision, but true quality always starts with skilled hands.

Responsible sourcing
The wood arrives from certified forests in France and central Europe, traceable from source to finished surface.
Wood is not a raw material like others. It grows slowly, gives once, and carries its origin in every ring. The forests it comes from are managed for the long term: nature protected, biodiversity preserved, the forest cared for with future generations in mind. We source responsibly and work only with partners who share the same approach to long-term stewardship. Quality starts long before production begins.
Quality does not begin in the workshop. It begins in the forest.
